A Day at the Camp
The day at the Algarve Surf School start around 9 a.m. with
some chilled music to wake you up. After you made your way
downstairs , you will find a breakfast which will wake you
up from the last night and get you ready for your day of surfing.
Fresh rolls from the bakery, cereals, fruits, coffee and tea
for your breakfast, and ham, cheese, salad and sauces for
you to make a sandwich for the beach.
After breakfast, around 10.30 or 11.00 we will pack our stuff
together, load the boards on the jeep, and drive you down
to the beach. Mostly this will be Praia do Amado, where our
beach hut is located, but we have the independence to choose
one of the plenty other spots nearby if the conditions are
changing.
After the arrival at the beach, equipment is handed out to
each camper. Please note, that you will be responsible for
your wet suit and your board during the whole week. Then you
will be split into a group, matching your level of surfing.
After the morning session, it is time to relax your muscles
and minds from surfing. Chill out at the beach, take your
lunch, or have a nap to regather your energy for the afternoon
session. Afternoon there will be another 2 hour surf lesson.
After the surf, we hang around the beach for a while, watching
the waves, having a beer, or enjoying the sunset. And then
we pack everything together and drive back to the camp. This
will be mostly around 6 or 6.30 p.m., then it time to take
a hot shower and start the evening with a beer at the bar,
or a relaxed game of pool.
Around 8pm dinner is served. This is always a main dish, like
bacalhau, chicken curry, pasta, or one of our famous BBQs,
along with it soup, salad and bread. For the dinners we charge
a small fee, ranging mostly from 8,- to 12,- Euros.
After dinner you can watch one of our numerous surf DVDs,
comedies and recent movies. Play some pool or have a chat
over the day and the latest surf news.
